National Museum of Scotland Sketchbook

This sketchbook helped me to explore different cultures in the museum. Again, this was a task in discovering different drawing styles as well as loosening me up for doing some drawing.

The museum contains several different exhibits exploring different cultures and their impact on Scotland. This was interesting to me because it made me see how multiculturalism has impacted Scotland and not just Brick Lane or my family history.

The key objects that I took away from this visit were firstly the weaving patterns and boards by Bernat Klein. These textures inspired me to create a weaving inspired drawing that ultimately led on to me creating a sketchbook of different weaving patterns.

Alongside this, the small Hindu statutes of gods and deities helped me to create a fun and interesting drawing style of which I developed further to create a street art style of a drawing. I really like this style and want to use this drawing in a final sample.
